Since Blue Prince is a challenging game to describe, we thought you might enjoy a brief overview of why and how you will be exploring the Mount Holly manor’s shifting hallways.
Beginning the Mystery
You don’t inherit a large manor very often, much less one that is said to have a new floor plan every day. In Blue Prince, a first-person architectural adventure, your lately departed great-uncle has dared you to locate the house’s hidden 46th chamber, and that’s exactly what happened. Given that the mansion only has 45 rooms, it’s an exceptionally odd challenge.
Drafting Your Journey
It is up to you what route you take once you enter the manor. You are shown three different rooms and given a decision when you get close to a locked door. The door opens once you make your choice, revealing the room. As you explore the house, you are essentially building it, and every new room you design gives your estate a new level of intrigue, mystery, and strategy. But proceed with caution because the manor is reset at the beginning of each day, so the rooms you see today could not be the same ones you see tomorrow.
Treasured Trinkets
Your daily progress is influenced by the tools and mysteries you discover in each room as well as the rooms you draft. You will discover many items that can be used in many creative ways to further your exploration and progress. They include shovels to unearth riches, compasses to direct your course, magnifying glasses to examine clues up close, and keys to open secret areas. The knowledge you acquire every day, however, is the best instrument.
Living Wills and Dead Ends
You will travel deeper into Mount Holly’s depths as you investigate this perplexing manor, and you will start to realize that the story is about more than simply a mysteriously missing room. Discover a past filled with extortion, political intrigue, and the odd disappearance of a well-known children’s book author. You’ll learn more the further you go into the house.
