Microsoft Flight Simulator
With its coverage of Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, Microsoft Flight Simulator: World Update XIX, a highly anticipated and much-requested update, is full of beauty and excitement, enhancing more than half of South America. Some of the most breathtaking vistas and ecosystems on Earth may be found in Brazil and the northern neighboring countries of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The area includes contemporary cities, the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts, and a large portion of the Amazon Basin. Explore these varied areas, which have been meticulously recreated in World Update XIX.

This upgrade, which was developed by Microsoft Flight Simulator in collaboration with Bing Maps, Maxar, and Vexcel, includes landscapes that range from expansive dune fields to busy metropolises. To create the most realistic, real-time images, the team used a variety of recent geospatial data types, such as satellite photography, aerial photos, DEM (digital elevation model), and DTM (digital terrain model) data.

Fort Diamant in French Guiana, Monte Roraima in Guyana and Brazil, Fort Zeelandia in Suriname, and Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro are among the 75 POIs (points of interest) that are included in World Update XIX. Additionally, it features four TIN cities—Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo—all of which are located in Brazil. Gaya Simulations, a partner of Microsoft Flight Simulator, created seven hand-crafted airports, including Guyana’s Kaieteur International Airport (SYKA/PKSA), Suriname’s Zorg en Hoop Airport (SMZO), French Guiana’s Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (SOOM), and Brazil’s Foz do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI), Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN), Santos Dumont (SBRJ), and Santarem-Maestro Wilson Fonseca International Airport (SBSN).

The update also includes:
- Brazil’s São Paulo, Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, and northern Brazil’s Lençóis Maranhenses National Park are all included in the three Discovery Flights.
- Brazil’s São Paulo–Congonhas Airport (SBSP), which is situated in the center of São Paulo, Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN) in a high wind challenge, and Santos Dumont Airport (SBRJ), which has a short runway, offer three landing challenges for you to test your piloting abilities.
- The Amazon Tour, which takes you through the Amazon River from the depths of the Amazon Rainforest to its delta; Discover Brazil, which takes you inland from São Paulo to Brazil’s capital, BrasÃlia; and Guyana – Suriname – French Guiana, which takes you through less-traveled parts of South America, from highlands to the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean coasts, are three bush trips (available only to Microsoft Flight Simulator owners) that will take you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in South America.
